Macchiato

Macchiato, meaning something like “spotted”, is an Espresso with a dash of foamed milk. At first sight it resembles a small Cappuccino but even if the ingredients are the same as those used for Cappuccino, a Macchiato has a much stronger and aromatic taste.

Ingredients

1 dl milk
coffee beans
sugar and/or cocoa powder (depending on your taste)

Cup

Espresso cup (Capacity about 70 ml)

Preparation

Foam milk directly in the espresso cup
Push the cup under the coffee outlet and draw off the espresso
Sprinkle with cocoa powder

Water volume (50-60 ml):	½ espresso cup	50-60 ml

Steam portion:	8 seconds	8 seconds or ¼ espresso cup
